Progress

The numbers the Quest Status and Equipment screens will actually show you, plus the six Great Fairies — which the game never lists.

  • Gold Skulltula tokens

The Quest Status screen carries a live count once you hold one. Rewards at 10 (Adult’s Wallet), 20 (Stone of Agony), 30 (Giant’s Wallet), 40 (Bombchu), 50 (Piece of Heart) and 100 (a repeatable Huge Rupee).

    / 100 tokens
  • Heart Containers

Three to start, eight from bosses, nine more from the 36 Pieces of Heart. The life meter is the only honest read: the subscreen icon shows 0–3 toward the next container and resets at four, so there is no way in-game to know how many of the 36 you have.

    / 20 hearts
  • Ocarina songs

The twelve with a slot on the Quest Status screen — six melodies and six warps. The Scarecrow’s Song is real but has no slot, so it is not counted here.

    / 12 songs
  • Bottles

Four slots, four sources: Ruto’s Letter, Talon’s Super Cucco game, Anju’s cuccos, and ten Big Poes.

    / 4 bottles
  • Equipment upgrades at their top tier

The four ladders on the Equipment subscreen: Quiver, Bomb Bag, Strength (Golden Gauntlets) and Scale (Golden Scale). Each tier is drawn, so the screen tells you which one is short.

    / 4 upgrades
  • Great Fairy — Magic Meter and Spin Attack

Death Mountain Trail and the summit, as a child.

  • Great Fairy — Din’s Fire

Behind Hyrule Castle, as a child.

  • Great Fairy — Farore’s Wind

    Zora’s Fountain, as a child.

  • Great Fairy — Double Magic

Death Mountain Crater, as an adult.

  • Great Fairy — Nayru’s Love

    Desert Colossus, as an adult.

  • Great Fairy — Double Defense

Outside Ganon’s Castle, and it needs the Golden Gauntlets. The reward shows as outlined hearts on the life meter.
