Hoenn lets you move in. A base of your own, Secret Pals to staff it, and a flag ladder that runs from Bronze to Platinum — the one part of ORAS that leaned on StreetPass, so the upper rungs now mean QR codes.

  • Make your first Secret Base

    Aarune shows you the trick on Route 111: Secret Power on a bush, a tree or a cave wall, and the space behind it is yours.

  • Decorate your base

    Mats, furniture, dolls and posters. Nobody is grading it, which is rather the point.

  • Recruit every Secret Pal

    Register another trainer's base and its owner can join you as a Secret Pal, each with a skill you can call on once a day. Five is the roster.

  • Capture Secret Base flags

    Thirty captures makes you Bronze Rank with Aarune at the Secret Base Guild in Fortree City — the first rung, and the last one that is honestly reachable now that StreetPass is gone. Flags come off other players' bases, which today means QR codes.

  • Reach Silver Rank

    One hundred flags captured.

  • Reach Gold Rank

    Five hundred flags captured.

  • Reach Platinum Rank

    One thousand flags captured, and the top of Aarune's ladder.
